MY FAVORITE THINGS

Through the years, I have had the opportunity to test out lots of gear

I often get questions about what cameras and lenses, software and accessories I use and recommend to make my photography business successful. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to test out lots of gear, accessories and software platforms, and I am happy to share my favorites with you here!

This one-light setup creates natural-looking light for beautiful portraits

I have tried many brands of cameras through the years, and I have settled on my Sonys (which I love!) My Sony a7iv has been fabulous for all kinds of photography and the lenses help me in taking some beautiful pictures. Lately, I have enjoyed doing more studio work with my Westcott flashes and a 7 foot modifier. This one-light setup creates natural-looking light for beautiful portraits, headshots and branding sessions in my home studio.

Good photography software is important

My software is also an integral part of my business. From hosting my website on Squarespace, to delivering my galleries with Pic-Time, these two platforms have worked hard for me through the years. Recently, with my school photography, I have discovered GotPhoto software. GotPhoto is a platform that enables the photographer to deliver high quality, boutique school portraits to parents with ease. Parents are also able to download and print high quality images directly from the gallery. This platform helped me easily photograph and deliver school pictures to a school with 600 students and 100 faculty and staff.

Keep your workflow streamlined

Photography accessories are a necessity in keeping you organized with your image files, editing your pictures, and backing up those beautiful images. My Apple Mac Studio and backup external hard drives help keep my workflow streamlined from sd card to finally backing up my pictures on an external hard drive and cloud service. I hope these recommendations will help you in taking pictures and keeping them safely for you to enjoy for years to come. Please check out the “My Favorite Things” page and let me know if I can help you with gear, accessory or software decisions! Have fun taking pictures!
